Your Word and Reputation, It’s Paramount – Auto Detailer’s Case Study

The other day I heard a tremendously interesting entrepreneurial story. It intrigued me personally because before retirement I was in the auto detailing business, I also franchised and created mobile car washing. The story goes something like this, and it is a decent case study to consider. Old man John Deere was putting together a trade show for all of his dealers, their convention it was coming to town. He put out a bid to all of the auto detailer’s in the area to see who might give him the best price to detail all of the tractors they were bringing in. You see they’d be coming by train and truck, and would be very dirty by the time they got to the convention showroom.

10 Step Business Plans – Steps You Must Include

Some of the points I make below are going to seem a bit strange and may cause you to shake your head, but to be fair, all these steps must be covered before you can successfully start any business whether it is online or storefront. Once you think through the noted steps, you will understand the importance of each step and why they are listed in the order that is shown here. Let me begin by stating that the most successful and happy people that are business entrepreneurs are people who created a business that demonstrated what these people truly wanted out of life. You may or may not be aware that if you do what you love, you’ll work harder, better and more happily (as I have learned the hard way).

Vibrational Marketing

If you’re in business, you market. If you think you’re only marketing when you do blatant self promotion or advertising, then you’re missing the most critical piece of the profit puzzle. It’s called vibrational marketing.

Effective Proposal You Can Use to Win a Video Production Contract

I was recently informed that the big corporation I was working with for a yearly project decided to open their production project up for bids. For eight straight years, I was their service provider for this project. It gave me the impression that they might not have been satisfied with my work or they might be looking elsewhere to get a cheaper deal.

Should You Buy a Quick Lube Franchise and Pay the Franchisee Fee or Start Your Own?

It appears that quick lube and oil change franchising companies charge between 18,000 and $40,000 for franchise fees. At the higher end that is getting pretty steep, and during the recession some of these franchisors are allowing new franchise buyers to finance that figure, or at least part of it. Some entrepreneurs believe that they shouldn’t pay the money, rather save that money and start their own business on their own. Yes, you could save the money, but as a former franchisor founder, I have some different thoughts on this from a different perspective.

Your Customers Not Getting It?

Hiring the Right People

Okay, let’s assume that you’ve got your idea, your business structure, and your money in hand. The next thing you’ve got to get your hands on is good people. In many ways, this is the scarcest commodity of all. Before you hire, you have to figure out…

The Rest You Need for Business Success

In the month of August a large portion of the workforce in Europe is on holiday. All month. It is almost impossible to get anyone, at any level, on the phone or to respond to an email. For the majority or the workforce in the US a worker is fortunate to be handed two weeks of vacation, and often is not even able to take their vacation time off. Largely due to the review process or peer pressure at work, or their own fear of losing their job, people will not even take one full week off from work. Often this way of thinking takes its effect on the entrepreneurial mindset and these individuals feel they may never be unplugged from their business; always on the phone or answering emails while they are on vacation.
